The Hofman's Pizza Story.....
The name, “Hofman’s Pizza" originated from the name of the long lost brother of Eric Hofman who one of the partners met during his travels in part of the Pyrenees mountain range, an area known as ‘The Catalan’.

The Catalan area includes a small country called Andorra and the area of Spain which holds Barcelona. During the cold winter months in the mountains, tucked away inside a mountain hut, one of the Hofmans Pizza partners would sit with some hot Spanish wine and listen to Eric talk of his long lost brother Ali – Tales of hardship, adventure and of course Pizza eating!

Eric Hofman; The brothers looked alike!
Eric's long lost brother Ali Hofman was a large man with a big white beard and a shiny bald head!, a cheerful man who brought lots of love, happiness and knowledge to all around him.
Whilst both of the brothers were originally from Norway, Eric ended up living in the Catalan, whilst Ali ended up – well, the answer to that still no one knows! |

Back in the day when the brothers were young, Ali would go off traveling through Europe by bicycle. He would often travel to both the mountains and the coast where he would find work making people the delicious pizza he had learnt during his travels in Italy and Greece (Pizza actually dates back to older times in Greece than in Italy – the Italians in the Naples area adopted the leavened bread combination in the late 1800’s) – Pizza comes from Greece!! not Italy???!!!.
Eric remembered the times when Ali would return and they would sit drinking the local Karsk (Vodka, Coffee and Sugar - look for the 'Hoffee' on our menu) and eat Ali’s latest Pizza inventions… Of which the favorite was the Cream sauce, Smoked Salmon, Onions and Capers – with a few herbs! Look on our menu for the ‘Norweiga’ pizza and you’ll be able to try what the brothers used to eat up there in the snowy hills.
Our Pizza recipe is how Pizza should be! The base is crispy and not biscuity, the sauce is more than just plain tomato and the cheeses we use have a little more flavor than the tasteless mozzarella often used.
We at Hofman's Pizza understand people have different tastes, and luckily the legendary Pizza is a great food medium to be creative. So if you don’t see what you want on our menu – ask us, we can do almost anything!! We love you; our customer. You are eating our food which is made with a lot of love and care. Just don’t ask us to put mayonnaise on the our Pizza, because that is against the rules!
Enjoy your Pizza! Lorne & Tres. X
